Mad Zebu
Mad Zebu (En face du marché, Belo-sur-Tsiribihina 609) – located in a remote town on the island’s west coast, this restaurant got top star reviews for its excellent food in an extremely surprising location. Most visitors visit the restaurant on their way to or back from the famous Tsingy for its first-class French-influenced food. The restaurant is named after a unique breed of cattle found on the island (Zebu), while “Mad” is a local reference to Madagascar.
First-time visitors must be warned that this is a challenging restaurant to get to: the drive there is a long dirt road journey from Morondava, including a river crossing by barge.
